Thunderbirds
is a british produced TV show made in the mid-60s and devised by Gerry
and Sylvia Anderson (who also created Captain Scarlet, Stingray and
Fireball XL5), using a form of puppetry known as "Supermarionation".
It's
set in the 21st Century and is about an organisation called
International Rescue who have their main base on remote Tracy Island,
named after the family of main characters - Jeff Tracy (the father and
leader), Scott, Virgil, Alan, Gordon and John Tracy. Other main
characters are Brains, the scientific genius and engineer, Lady
Penelope, the London agent, and her butler/chauffeur Parker, who
drives her pink Rolls Royce FAB1.
