Although circus clowns
are meant to amuse children of all ages, they have ended up also being a
figure of fear. Many people have phobias of clowns, and their strange makeup
is quite spooky. The clown fancy dress costume is very popular for halloween,
especially with a scary clown mask.
The movie "It" based on
the novel by Stephen King also helped the clown to become a figure of fear -
