Hold Tight It's 70's Night!
60s
and 70s
outside event and concert held every July at Ormesby Hall,
Middlesbrough, Cleveland.
As
of 2008, this is year 12 of this monster of a 70s (and 60s)
outdoor music event, featuring live 60's and 70's bands - often
with a whole or part original line-up of famous chart acts.
An
attendance of about 9,000 people, mostly dressed in outrageously
kitsch retro and 60s, 70s fashion, party from late afternoon
sunshine through to starry evening moonlight, to the sounds of
such bands as Abba, Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire, The
Beatles, Beach Boys, Slade, Elton John, The Beach Boys, Boney M
and countless other classic party and disco acts.
You
need to book your tickets early because this event is extremely
popular and thousands of regulars return each year, and hundreds
of newcomers make a point of coming back again the next year
once they experience how much fun it is.
Party
Pants supply 60s and 70s costumes to many of the event attendees
leading up to the concert (some people get costumes from us for
this outdoor festival more than 2 months prior to the concert)
and we also run a stall on the night selling 60s and 70s wigs,
costume accessories, medallions and novelties, plus flashing and
glow items for the night's finale - a spectacular firework
display.
Other
stalls at the event include food and drink stalls, beer tents,
coffee vendors etc.
We
at Party Pants have a particular affection towards this event
because it is local to us and it started round about the same
time that we first opened for business - plus we love to see our
customers, in their wacky and cheesy costumes that we have
provided for them, boogie-ing on down on the enormous expanse of
the Ormesby Hall outdoor grassy disco dancefloor!
