70's Summer Magic!
60s
and 70s
outside event and concert held every July at Ormesby Hall,
Middlesbrough, Cleveland.
As
of 2010, this is year 14 of this massive 70's (and 60's) outside music event
held in "the boro", featuring live 60's and 70's bands - often
with a whole or part original line-up of famous chart acts.
Attended
by up to 9,000 people, mostly dressed in outlandish
kitsch retro and 60s, 70s fashion, the party in the park starts from late afternoon
in the sun through to starry evening moonlight, to the classic sounds of
such bands as Abba, Bee Gees, Queen, The
Beatles, Meatloaf, Slade, Elton John, Boney M and countless
other retro party and disco acts.
Tickets
need to be booked early because this event is very popular and
thousands of regulars return each year, and many newcomers make
a point of coming back again the next year once they experience
this magical outside event.
Party
Pants supply 60s and 70s costumes to many of the event attendees
during the period leading up to the concert (some people buy
costumes from us for this outdoor festival more than 2 months
prior to the concert) and we also hold a stall on the night
at the event, selling 60s and 70s wigs, costume
accessories, medallions and novelties, plus light up and
glow items for the night's finale - a spectacular firework
display.
Other
stalls available at the event include food and drink stalls, beer tents,
coffee vendors etc.
We at Party Pants have a particular affection towards this event
because it is local to us and it began round about the same year
that we first opened for business - plus we love to see our
customers, in their kitsch and cheesy fancy dress costumes that we have
provided for them, boogie-ing on down on the enormous expanse of
the Ormesby Hall outdoor grassy disco dancefloor!
