Their image and their sound recognisable everywhere, the Village
People are the epitome of 70's disco and party music. They are what
this website is about - fun, fancy dress, 70's and partying!
Scoring massive chart hits with "YMCA", "In The Navy" and "Go West"
etc, the original members were Victor Willis (police officer), Felipe
Rose (american indian chief), Randy Jones (cowboy), David Hodo
(construction worker) and Glenn Hughes (leather man/ biker) plus Alex
Briley (G.I. / sailor).
The band is
named after New York's Greenwich Village district, which had a large
gay population, many of whom wore fancy dress outfits of their fantasy
heroes.
Dress up as
members of Village People for a night in a fancy dress costume from
Party Pants - you will look so macho man, and don't forget those
moustaches!
